About Anthony
There are times in life when circumstances cause great and intense suffering that lead us to feel out of control. No one should feel as though they have to face their problems alone. However, it can be difficult at times to ask for help. There are many barriers in our culture and our selves that often prevent us from admitting we need assistance, but you have made it this far, to this counseling website and this could represent the first step towards a greater overall sense of wellness and balance in your life.
In my view, therapy is a healing art by which the source of its power is based in the relationship between therapist and client. I will work to earn your trust and ensure that your experience is validated, your voice completely heard. My own personal and professional experience has taught me that even in the depths of crisis people are resilient and have within them great wells of strength and wisdom. As your therapist, I will help you use your strengths as a way to facilitate self-discovery and promote empowerment. We will achieve this through the use of techniques from a wide variety of counseling traditions including psychodynamic, existential, cognitive behavioral, and narrative therapies.
I am a graduate of the Master of Arts in Education Counseling program at Seattle University and recognized as a Mental Health Professional (MHP), a Child Mental Health Specialist (CMHS) and a Sexual Minority Mental Health Specialist (SMMHS) based on my years of experience in the King County community mental health system. I work with people of all spiritual belief systems, ethnic and gender identities, ranges of ability and sexual orientations. I have specialized training and experience in working with members of the LGBT community. Above all else, it is my mission to provide a safe environment for you to express yourself that is free of judgment.
I am currently accepting adult and adolescent clients for individual, couples, and family therapy. Since it is important that people find a therapist who can best suit their unique needs, I offer for all new clients a free 30-minute consultation to see if we are a good match and can provide referrals if necessary. In order to remove barriers to treatment and care, I offer appointments on evenings and weekends as well as a limited amount of appointments on a sliding scale based on income.
